London Architecture Week 2006

During the summer in June, it was London architecture week. I went and checked out a few things.  I also walked a bit around the Clerkenwell Historic trail.  I have lived in London 10 years now as an adult and there is still much I have not seen.

There was an audio installation set up in Clerkenwell that was quite interesting : http://www.thelondonoasis.com/

I did a guided tour of the South Bank of the Thames which included a visit to the famous Oxo tower.

There was also a Pecha Kucha as part of it at Sadler's Wells.  I have been trying to see a Pecha Kucha ever since Jayne Jordan told me about them.  They are normally held at the ICA in London.  Pecha Kucha comes from Japan and the basic idea is that you get a fixed amount of to make a presentation or talk about something.  It was a mixed bag of talks at this one.

I did a video walk around the Barbican.  Armed with a mobile phone and a video clip; I did a guided tour with a pre-recorded walk. http://www.videowalks.org/. Afterwards, I was given a video tape and a camera  and made a video as I walked around the market afterwards;  I never did see the result.  I should email the people at Video Walks and ask them how it came out.
